X-Rite M50111 Mini ColorChecker Chart Review
I don’t know why Im writing this, other than the Amazon sending me a email to review my purchase.. (smile)
Seriously, if you know what a Gretag Macbeth Color Checker is, then you know what it does, and this product is simply a creditcard sized version of the big one, its dead on as always and running it with a profile software in photoshop creates a perfect profile for color managment, so the card travles with me everywhere. and the size functions very well.
For those who do not know the Gretag Macbeth Mini Color Checker, its a system of VERY accurate collor swatches, cleverly arranged so some very typical color-cast errors will cause the some of the colors to practically trade places when seen on the screen. these colors are also a “known standard” so there are several different softwares on the market which will process a picture of the card and create a color profile, which you can then apply to pictures taken at the same time.
This is useful in several ways.
Profile your studio setup, and then create a studio profile on your computer for great colors in the studio.
Profile a location you are shooting at by taking a picture of the card and making a temp profile to apply to all of the shots from this place.
My only question is how long to I loose this one and will need another… Its a great product. But be forwarned, its for serious users and requires a followthrough on your part.

Tamrac S113 (Pair) Black Cam Locking Cinch Straps Review
These arrived promptly. They thread easily through the slots at the bottom of my Tamrac backpack. I use them for holding my full-size tripod. AOK!
Maybe a bit overpriced, but the value of these is the convenience they provide, not necessarily the raw material from which they are made.
